The problem with being a doormat with a masculinity as fragile as Ezequiel's is that he becomes a pretty easy target for friends who enjoy poking fun at him. And while Indigo seems very motherly on first pass... she's having fun laughing at how stupid Ezel's beard it. 
He protested when she stole his glasses but it's okay, she's pushing him. He doesn't need to see anything right now. 
Someday Ezel will stand up to his friends. Just... not today.
